Featured on the Spleis website, Norway’s largest digital fundraising and crowdfunding platform, is a comic book that will present classic Phantom comic strip adventures. The campaign is titled “Ja, Vi Elsker Fantomet”, translating to “Yes, We Love the Phantom”.
The campaign is presented by John Berge Forlag and is promoted as offering enthusiasts the definitive Norwegian comic book edition featuring the Phantom, issued in a strictly limited run of 500 copies. Published as a premium hardcover volume with an exclusive dust jacket, the book constitutes a carefully curated homage to Lee Falk’s enduring legacy and seminal storytelling.
Across 320 tightly packed pages, the comic book contains six uniquely restored classic adventures from the original creator Lee Falk alongside his legendary first artists, Ray Moore and Wilson McCoy. Presented in their original crisp black and white, these newly translated stories are complemented by over 50 rich, colorful editorial pages that provide deep background context and insight for collectors and comic enthusiasts alike.
Published by John Berge Forlag (established 26th of October 1999) and headquartered at Halfdan Kjerulfs vei 6A, 1410 Kolbotn, this publication is produced under an exclusive license from Hearst Holdings, Inc., and King Features Syndicate, Inc., distributed via Bulls. Led by editor John Berge and featuring layout and design by Per Mork, the creative and editorial team includes Ivan Pedersen, who handled comic book restoration, translation, and subtitling, alongside editorial members Jostein Hansen, Kristian Hellesund, and Peder J. Bjørkmann.
