Fantomet Christmas Album 2026 by Story House Egmont

A special Norwegian Christmas album, published by Story House Egmont in Norway, is now becoming available online for pre-order.

Titled “Barndommens Helter – Julen 2026”, which translates to “Childhood Heroes – Christmas 2026” the paperback format comic book features 124 pages with Norwegian text. The special Christmas release celebrates classic adventure and comic strip characters that have held enduring popularity in Scandinavia over the decades.

The central figure on the cover is Fantomet (The Phantom), dynamic and prominently placed as he swings on a rope with a gun in hand. Surrounding him in panel inserts are four other legendary comic characters, each labeled at the bottom: Lyn Gordon (Flash Gordon), Rip Kirby, Mandrake (Mandrake the Magician), and Modesty Blaise. Together, these classic heroes represent a golden age of syndicated newspaper adventure strips, brought together in a holiday anthology for long-time readers and collectors.

The description for the comic book as seen in online advertisements reads:

In this brand new 124-page Christmas booklet, we have collected stories about five of the most legendary icons in comic book history. Classic adventures, immortal excitement and rock-solid comic book craftsmanship are at the center of this reunion with the heroes who shaped the childhoods of those of us who grew up in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Here we meet the Phantom in Sy Barry’s Sunday classic from 1990 and Mandrake in magical adventures from the glory year of 1948. We also get a magnificent space odyssey with Lyn Gordon from 1953, razor-sharp crime with Rip Kirby from 1949, and hard-hitting action with everyone’s favorite lady, Modesty Blaise, in the classic story “The Black Pearl” from 1966. As if that weren’t enough, we also offer a very special and previously unpublished story from 1992 where several of the heroes meet, as well as an exciting article written by Kristian Hellesund.

Barndommens Helter – Julen 2026 is due for release on the 30th of October 2026, which can be found for pre-order HERE.
