Currently live on Kickstarter, we see a new campaign launched by Kelby Wooldridge from Reapers’ Quest, based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
The campaign is titled, ‘Phantom Country: A Map Based On The Phantom Comic‘, running for 30 days, commencing today and ending on Friday the 2nd of December. The target amount for the campaign to successfully achieve funding is $90,000AUD.
Kelby provides us with a clear description of what collectible/s is on offer in the campaign:
A detailed three-dimensional model of the country Bangalla, and surrounds, featured in Lee Falk’s “The Phantom”, the first superhero. The whole map will be 45cm x 75cm.
Included in the model will be ten prominent landmarks, Phantom Peak, The Skull Cave, Misty Mountains, Witchman’s Peak, Isle of Eden, Keela-Wee, Whispering Grove, the Eastern Dark, Nyahpura (Emperor Joonkar’s palace) and the Jungle Patrol Headquarters.
The miniatures are designed to slot into the Phantom Country Map to create a three-dimensional model of the different locations as found in Phantom comic strip stories.
The map and miniatures will be fully licensed by King Features Syndicate and have been designed by Phantom artist Glenn Ford. A total of 20,000 sets are expected to be produces, distributed throughout Australasia, The Americas, Europe and Africa.
A variety of Pledge Levels are available on the Kickstarter campaign:
$20 Pledge – Choice of One Miniature, Unpainted
One of the ten miniatures, unpainted but boxed.
$65 Pledge – Choice of First Two Miniatures
One of the first two 3D printed miniatures of either Phantom Peak or Skull Cave with corresponding artwork and set of four paints with primer to paint miniature.
$100 Pledge – A Hand Painted Miniature
A hand painted miniature of The Skull Cave with a digitally signed print of the artwork.
$200 Pledge – Two Hand Painted Miniature
Phantom Peak and Skull Cave miniatures hand painted with digitally signed artwork by Glenn Ford. Also, your name will be on the back of the Phantom country map when it is made.
$650 Pledge – All Ten Miniatures
Phantom Peak and Skull Cave miniatures hand painted with digitally signed artwork by Glenn Ford. Also, your name will be on the back of the Phantom country map when it is made.
$1100 Pledge – All Ten Miniatures Hand Painted
All ten miniatures hand painted with personally signed prints by Glenn Ford. Also, your name will be on the back of the Phantom Country map when it is made.
An informative and detailed video is found on the Kickstarter campaign, with Kelby verbally explaining the project to us. We also see examples of produced miniatures in both unpainted and painted form. The estimated delivery period for backers to receive their Pledge if the campaign is successfully funded is in May, 2023.
