The Wedding of the Phantom Comic Book by Mythos Editora

Mythos Editora, based in Brazil, has announced the availability of a new comic book for pre-order featuring the Phantoms wedding to Diana.

Titled “O Casamento do Fantasma”, which translates to “The Wedding of the Phantom” is scheduled for release in August 2026 by Mythos Editora. This special 128-page edition is part of their prestigious “Gold Edition” line, featuring an elegant white and gold bordered cover design. It celebrates one of the most monumental milestones in Phantom comic strip history: the long-awaited wedding of the 21st Phantom (Kit Walker) and his lifelong love, Diana Palmer.

Written by the character’s legendary creator, Lee Falk, and beautifully illustrated by the definitive modern Phantom artist, Sy Barry, this storyline originally captivated newspaper readers over several months starting in late 1977 in US newspapers. The story begins with the Phantom asking Diana’s mother, Lily Palmer, for her daughter’s hand in marriage, leading to a deeply emotional and classic sequence. The culmination is a massive, historic celebration in the Deep Woods that brings together iconic recurring characters, jungle chiefs, and representatives from all over the world to witness the union of the Ghost Who Walks.

This specific 2026 collection by Mythos is a major treat for collectors of classic comic history. Rather than just offering the basic strips, it compiles the landmark story in a premium, high-quality format. The edition meticulously captures Sy Barry’s detailed line work, which defined the look of the character for over three decades, restoring the vibrant coloring and preserving the classic adventure strip’s original charm.

The cover of Mythos Editora’s O Casamento do Fantasma features Sy Barry’s iconic illustration of the historic jungle wedding, beautifully framed within a clean, deluxe white-and-gold border. At the center of the scene, the Phantom in his signature purple suit lifts his new bride, Diana Palmer, radiant in her white wedding dress and veil, as she joyfully tosses her bridal bouquet into the air.

Surrounding the happy couple is a vibrant crowd of guests that represents the diverse corners of the Phantom’s universe: to the left, we see Diana’s mother, Lily Palmer, and uncle, Dave Palmer, alongside key allies like President Luaga of Bangalla and Mandrake the Magician in a top hat. Loyal Bandar tribe members, including Guran and Old man Mozz, watch the ceremony with warm smiles, while the Phantom’s loyal animal companions, his white stallion, Hero, and his wolf, Devil are integrated into the gathering. Up above, a cheerful monkey swings from the jungle canopy, and in the foreground, we see the backs of several jungle dwellers and chiefs, all coming together in the Deep Woods to celebrate the legendary union.
