Zauberstern Comics, a publisher based in Germany, has announced the availability of a new Phantom comic book for preorder.

Zauberstern Comics, which presently publishes two ongoing series of Phantom comic books (entitled “The Phantom” and “Phantom Spezial”), have now introduced a third series called “Phantom Album”, with a new edition due to be released every three months. The inaugural edition comprises 52 full-color pages featuring German text. Included within are two Phantom comic strip adventures:

• The Empty Throne – written by Claes Reimerthi and illustrated by Paul Ryan
• The Baptism of Fire – written by Claes Reimerthi and illustrated by Alex Saviuk

The description presented in the online advertisement for the Phantom Album, edition number one, states:

The 21st Phantom is dead? Now it’s up to Kit and Heloise Walker to take up their father’s mantle and assume the role of the Phantom, the 22nd Phantom! However, the siblings’ collaboration proves difficult. Will they manage to overcome their differences?

Two variant front covers will be introduced for the first edition in this series, both depicted below.

The first cover is illustrated by Timo Wuerz (seen above left). It features a dynamic, painted action scene showcasing the Phantoms two children, Kit and Heloise, running forward side-by-side against a dark, atmospheric backdrop. In the background, a massive glowing Skull Cave looms ominously, while several large Southern ground hornbills with distinct red facial patches fly alongside the characters, adding a wild jungle energy to the piece.

The second cover is illustrated by Henrik Sahlström (seen above right). It features a much more minimalist and dramatic composition, focusing on two close-up profiles of Kit and Heloise in the Phantoms costume, facing one another in intense symmetry. Their dark cowls and stark, white, eyeless masks dominate the left and right sides of the frame, drawing the eye directly to the center. In the negative space between them, a beam of ethereal light shines down from above, illuminating the iconic stone Skull Throne resting at the bottom center.

The preorder announcement on the Zauberstern Comics website informs us that both variants of Phantom Album edition number one are scheduled for release on the 25th of August 2026, located HERE.
