The Phantom Story Book by Mythos Editora

A new Phantom story book is now available for pre-order, scheduled for publication by the Brazil-based Mythos Editora.

The title of the book is “O Fantasma: A Ameaça de Scorpia”, which translates to “The Phantom: The Scorpia Menace”. It comprises 160 pages printed in black and white with Portuguese text. This publication is presented in a prose/literary format and is not a comic book; reprinting a story which was originally published by Avon Publications in the USA as part of a fifteen-volume series beginning in 1972. This edition, set to be published by Mythos Editora, represents the third installment in this series.

The story is written by Basil Copper, which puts a heavy focus on Diana Palmer and a classic international threat. Diana dives deep into historical research regarding ancient piracy, only to uncover signs of an elite, hidden criminal organization long thought to be extinct: Scorpia (the infamous pirate network which readers will recognize as the historical, recurring thorn in the side of the Phantom lineage). When Diana mysteriously vanishes in the middle of her investigation, the Phantom must track down his missing love and dismantle the powerful, secretive cabal.

O Fantasma: A Ameaça de Scorpia was originally published by Mythos Editora in 2020, however the front cover of this 2026 edition, illustrated by George Wilson, will contain the special black, green, and purple logo celebrating “90 Legendary Years” of the Phantom, which can be seen below.

The description provided by Mythos Editora reads:

Mythos Editora continues with another chapter in its revitalization of The Phantom in Brazil. In The Threat of Scorpia, we have a literary adventure of the character, reminiscent of pulp classics. When Diana Palmer, the Phantom’s beloved, dives headfirst into the study of ancient piracy, she comes across an organization that was thought to be long lost: Scorpia. After she mysteriously disappears in the midst of her research, it will be up to the Ghost Who Walks to find his lost love and dismantle this powerful and hidden group.

The book will be accompanied by a magnetic bookmark produced by Mythos Editora.
