Published by Bokförlaget Max Ström in Sweden is a book which presents a collection of posters featuring the work of the Swedish cartoonist, author, and illustrator Jan Lööf.

Titled ‘Jan Lööf Posters‘, the hardcover book contains 40 pages presented in full color, measuring 21cm x 29.7cm which was released on the 7th of May 2025. This compilation constitutes a collection of illustrations in book format, featuring posters from the iconic 1970s series Felix and Ville, as well as celebrated children’s book successes from the 2000s, including Pelle, Matilda, and Örni. For enthusiasts of music, the volume includes illustrations of legendary figures such as Frank Zappa, Håkan Hellström, Chuck Berry, and Aretha Franklin.

The internal pages feature a total of 20 posters printed on high quality paper, each of which are illustrated by Jan Lööf and designed for easy removal from the book and displayed as required.

The art found on the cover of the book (as seen above) is an illustration by Jan Lööf himself, depicting what appears to be a self-portrait. In the illustration, he’s seated at a drawing table, working on a Phantom comic strip. Around him are various objects hinting to the themes of his stories and illustrations, which including a globe, adventure books in a book case (which includes The Jungle Book, Doctor Dolittle and Robinson Crusoe), a film projector (with a King Kong movie reel close by) and a ship model.

Also seen on the cover art is a variety of comic strip characters in parody style. The Phantom is seen leading a crowd of other comic book characters. Felix is also seen in the illustration seated on the book case, a character created by Jan Lööf.

Jan Lööf illustrated a comic strip series which featured the Phantom as a parody titled ‘Felix and the Phantom’. Containing 104 comic strips in black and white, the story was published in Dagens Nyheter newspaper from the 5th of November, 1969 thru to the 10th of March, 1970.
