The Phantom Wilson McCoy Omnibus Volume 1 by Mythos Editora

The Brazilian based Mythos Editora have announced the release of a new Phantom comic book, titled ‘O Fantasma Omnibus – O Fantasma Vai A Guerra & Outras Historias‘.

Translating to ‘The Phantom Omnibus – The Ghost Goes to War & Other Stories‘, the hardcover book will contain 544 pages and measure 17cm x 26cm, with black and white pages found within the comic book. Text will be printed in Portuguese.

The pre-sale advertisement on the Mythos Editora website tells us that the stories found within the book are written by Phantom creator Lee Falk, and the comic strips are illustrated by Wilson McCoy:

Wilson McCoy’s long-lived phase is being compiled into an omnibus starting with this volume. Starting with the longest story in the daily Phantom strips, “The Phantom Goes to War” (which marks the passing of the baton from Ray Moore to his assistant), the omnibus also includes “The Broder Gang”, “The Wedding” , “Intrigue on Board”, “Spy Network” and “The Singer”.

This edition is numbered Volume 1, with an assumption that Mythos Editora will be releasing a follow-up edition or editions. This Omnibus style comic book marks the 5th released, with artists featured in past comic books including Ray Moore and Sy Barry.

The front cover of O Fantasma Omnibus – O Fantasma Vai A Guerra & Outras Historias can be seen above, an illustration by Wilson McCoy with the Phantom seen in an action pose.

A sample of internal comic strip panels can be seen below:

Pre-Orders for the comic book are currently open, with estimated delivery due in May 2024.
