Devil is a gray mountain Wolf and the loyal companion of the Phantom who travels around the world with him on his various adventures. He’s been shot and wounded in the line of duty, saving the Phantom numerous times.
Devil’s father was a feared killer wolf known as Satan. The Phantom rescued Devil following his mothers death, killed by hunters in the jungle.
Devil is not only highly intelligent and courageous, but also affectionate and obedient to the Phantom.
Tale of Devil, a Sunday comic strip by Lee Falk and Wilson McCoy, was first published in newspaper on the 11th of November, 1951, thru till the 23rd of March, 1952. The story was the first full-length feature to be devoted to the Phantoms trusty companion, Devil.
