Suplemento em Quadrinhos (translating from Portuguese to ‘Supplements in Comics’) were published by Editorial Lino in Brazil from 1967 to 1968. Included as a newspaper lift-out in the Jornal Jovem newspaper, Suplemento em Quadrinhos contain 16 full color pages measuring 27.5cm x 41.5cm. Only 3 editions were published.
Besides the Phantom, each Suplemento em Quadrinhos contains a mix of comic book characters, including Mandrake the Magician, Zorro, Flash Gordon, Brick Bradford, Batman, X-Men, Donald Duck and Steve Canyon to name a few. A full page was dedicated to one comic book character.
The first Suplemento em Quadrinhos was found in Jornal Jovem newspaper published on the 31st of December, 1967. The front page of Jornal Jovem advertised the lift-out on it’s front page.

The Suplemento em Quadrinhos lift-out found in the above Jornal Jovem newspaper contains a Phantom comic strip on the front cover as seen below. Each edition is numbered from 1 to 3 in the large ‘O’ located at the top header margin.

The second edition of Suplemento em Quadrinhos lift-out contains a Mandrake the Magician comic strip on the cover, with the Phantom comic strip found within the publication.

Finally, the third edition of Suplemento em Quadrinhos lift-out contains a Batman comic strip on the cover, with the Phantom comic strip found within the publication.

The 3 versions of Suplemento em Quadrinhos were again republished in 1968 with some minor differences. Number one contains the same comic strips and resembles the version seen in the first publication above, however the edition number printed on the front cover has been altered. Instead of number 1 appearing within the ‘O’, we now see the number 0.

The second and third editions of these republished versions also contain the same comic strips, except now we see a new wrap-around cover. These editions are numbered 2 and 3 respectively, with number 2 now containing an illustration of Mandrake the Magician and number 3 now containing an illustration of Batman. Number 1 is not seen on any of the republished covers.
