La Patrie was a daily newspaper printed in Montreal, Quebec. It was founded by Honoré Beaugrand on February the 24th, 1879. It became a weekly edition in 1957 and ceased printing in 1978.

The Phantom made his first appearance in this newspaper on the 28th of May, 1939. The comic strip is printed in black and white, in French.
