Parodi

Parodi comic books were published by Epix Publishing House in Sweden from 1990 thru till 1994. The softcover comic book series contains 11 editions featuring a variety of comic characters per edition. The series contains humor adult themed comic strips of popular comic book characters in parody form with their titles slightly altered. The series is written and illustrated by Roger Brunel.

Parodi edition number 6 published in 1991 is titled ‘Imse Vimse Spindelman’, containing 48 color pages measuring 21cm x 29cm with Swedish text. It features the Phantom on the front cover. The front and back cover of this edition can be seen below.

The Phantom is seen amongst a variety of other comic book characters on the front cover, including Spider-Man, Mickey Mouse, Dick Tracey, Donald Duck, Dagwood and more. The Phantom is not only seen in the window of the main cover image, but also in the top left in profile above the series title, Parodi. Although the Phantom is featured on the front cover, he’s not featured within the comic book.

The parody comic book was also published in Finland, the edition was titled ‘Aikuisparodiaa! USA-Spesiaali’, published by Oy Atpe AB in 1992. The edition is published in full color containing 47 pages with Finnish text.
