Opera Graphica

O Fantasma was published by Opera Graphica in São Paulo, Brazil from 2001 thru till 2003. Six separate series featuring Phantom comic strip stories were published, a total of 15 comic books released.


Opera Graphica started off as a magazine stand by Carlos Mann and Franco de Rosa on the streets of São Paulo, Brazil in the 1990s. A retail store was opened soon after named ‘Comix Book Shop’, selling a variety of publications within the area.

In 1996, the label Opera Graphica was launched, initially providing publication services to Editora Escala. In 1998, publications under the Opera Graphica brand were released with a focus on quality style albums designed to be sold in mainstream bookstores and comic book shops. A range of comic book themed reference books were also released.

Opera Graphica ceased operating in 2008.

Published from 2001 thru till 2002, 5 editions were released in black and white measuring 13.5cm x 17.5cm containing from 84 to 100 pages.

O Fantasma Gold

Published in 2001, 2 editions were released in black and white measuring 15cm x 23cm containing from 84 to 108 pages. A special edition comic book was released featuring both editions in one.

O Fantasma Pocket

Published in 2001, 2 editions were released in black and white measuring 11.5cm x 17.5cm containing 84 pages.

O Fantasma Coleção

Published in 2001, 1 edition was released in black and white measuring 13.5cm x 17.5cm containing 100 pages.

O Fantasma Magazine

Published in 2002, 2 editions were released in black and white measuring 19cm x 27cm containing 52 pages.

O Fantasma Graphic Novel

Published in 2003, 2 editions were released in color measuring 15cm x 24.5cm containing 52 pages.
