Don Newton mainly worked on Charlton Comic’s horror titles before being hired to work on the Phantom, first appearing in comic book number 67 in October 1975. He continued on the Phantom until the series ended with edition 74 in January 1977. He illustrated all comic strips in these editions and provided the cover art for all except edition 72.
O Fantasma por Don Newton contains 146 full color pages measuring 17cm x 26cm in Portuguese text, providing a vibrant and engaging experience for readers, showcasing Don Newton’s artistic prowess and dedication to the craft. The front cover was originally published by Charlton Comics in the USA in 1977 on the front cover of edition number 74.

The description provided by Mythos Editora for the comic book reads:
THE SPIRIT-WALKS IN THE HANDS OF THE MEMORABLE DON NEWTON Don Newton (Batman – Legends of the Dark Knight: Don Newton) was a brilliant comic book artist between the 1970s and 1980s, who worked at Marvel, but is best known for different works at DC, including the first appearance of Jason Todd, who would become the second Robin, and the co-creation of the character Maxie Zeus, together with the legendary Dennis O’Neil.
Before that, Newton would lend his art to Lee Falk’s greatest creation, The Phantom, in the last issues produced by the classic publisher Charlton Comics. In six sensational adventures, with breathtakingly beautiful covers, the artist showed everyone his virtuosity and then took new heights at the two largest superhero publishers in the world. Unfortunately, Don would pass away in 1984, at the age of 49, victim of a heart attack, tragically interrupting an already very well-established career. However, like the “Man Who Never Dies” that he illustrated, the flame of his talent remains lit in this vintage edition, which brings together all of his production at Charlton to delight old and new readers.

As an additional bonus, Mythos Editora provided a complimentary metal Phantom key ring with the book, which replicates the triangular belt buckle worn by the Phantom. The key ring not only serves as a practical accessory for holding keys but also makes for a striking collectible.
