El Libro de la Historieta (which translates to The Comic Book) is a comic book series published by Editorial TOR in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 1950 thru till 1963. The series contains 35 editions, featuring a large number of comic book characters, with a variety of characters published per edition. The characters featured include the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Flash Gordon, Popeye, Superman, Buffalo Bill, Buz Sawyer, The Shadow, Brick Bradford, Steve Canyon, Johnny Hazard and many more.

El Libro de la Historieta contain approximately 130 pages printed in a mix of color and black and white, measuring 17cm x 28cm. All comic book covers are published in color, with an edition number also printed on the cover. Most of the covers also contain the name of the comic book character published within the edition.

The Phantom was published under the title of ‘El Fantasma’ in 9 of the 35 editions, in numbers 4, 9, 16, 21, 22, 23, 25, 32 and 33. He appears on the covers of numbers 4, 9 and 23. All editions the Phantom is found in can be seen below, except for edition number 32.
