Several contests have appeared in Diamond Comics comics over the years. Contests generally entailed the comic reader completing a task, and posting in a reply/answer and posting it in to Diamond Comics publishers.
Trip To Disneyland – 1998
The Trip To Disneyland contest was published in Phantom comic book numbers 78, 79 and 80 by Diamond Comics in India in 1998. To enter the competition, the reader was required to create a poster on ‘Growing Up’. The entrant is required to creating a slogan for the poster and attach a 50 word essay explaining the poster. Below we see the 3 comics the contests were advertised in.
9 children had the opportunity to win a Trip To Disneyland from India, with the winners having the opportunity to attended the Disney Children’s Summit in Paris, France in 1998. Below we see the advertisements published in Diamond Comics.
Win A Babol Watch – 1999
The Win A Babol Watch contest was published in Phantom comic book number 93 by Diamond Comics in India in 1999. To enter the competition, the reader was required to post 2 Pocket Cricket Play Cards found in Big Babol Bubble Gum packets. Below we see the contest on the outside back cover of the comic.
50,000 Babol Watches were on offer to the first entries received by Big Babol. The 2 Pocket Cricket Playing Card to be posted to Big Babol were required to contain 2 different cricket players, which came with either a blue or red boarder. The front and back of each colored card can be seen below.
