L’Uomo Mascherato comic books were published by Comic Art in Italy from 1991 thru till 1998. The series contains 55 comic books plus 6 special edition publications. The series published Phantom stories written by Lee Falk and illustrated by either Ray Moore or Wilson McCoy. Each edition also contains Brick Bradford comic strips.
The regular series contains 55 editions published from 1991 thru till 1998. Each comic is printed with black and white pages with color only found on the covers measuring 24cm x 16cm. Comic books vary in page length, ranging from 48 pages up to 96 pages with Italian text published in landscape format.
All front covers contain a colorful banner on the left with a profile image of the Phantom by Ray Moore. Both Italian and English titles are printed on the front covers, ‘L’Uomo Mascherato’ and ‘Phantom’, plus the publishers Comic Art logo. All covers contain illustrations by Ray Moore and Wilson McCoy from internal comic strip stories. A sample of front covers can be seen below.
















In 1993, special editions were released by Comic Art containing the word ‘Raccolta’ on the front covers, which translates to ‘Collection’, measuring 24cm x 16cm. Only 2 editions were released, with the contents being unsold copies from the regular series. Edition number one contains the first 3 editions from the regular series, with edition number two containing editions 4, 5 and 6. A unique cover design was created for these 2 editions, which can be seen below.


From 1993 thru till 1994, album style editions were released by Comic Art, published with 96 color pages measuring 21.5cm x 27.5cm. Only 4 editions were released, with Phantom stories published written by Lee Falk and illustrated by Wilson McCoy. Each comic book contains an edition number plus the publishers Comic Art logo. All covers contain illustrations by Wilson McCoy from internal comic strip stories, which can be seen below.
