Tin Sign Hang-Up

The Phantom Tin Sign Hang-Up was produced by Custom (Int.) Pty Ltd in Australia, in 2008. Fully licensed by King Features Syndicate, 2 separate designs were produced, with the signs made of solid Tin, with baked on gloss enamel bearing images of the Phantom.

The 2 different images of the Phantom are found on the front, the first by Joe Prado (the Phantom with Tigers) and the second by Douglas Klauba (the Phantom with crossed arms). The Tin Sign Hang-Up’s came in clear plastic packaging with a Header and Backing Card. The signs are rectangular in shape, measuring 25cm x 35cm and came with 4 holes at each corner for ease of hanging.

Both images found on the Tin Sign Hang-Up’s can also be found on comic books published by Moonstone Books, an American publisher based in Chicago which was founded in 1995 by Joe Gentile. We see Moonstone Books logo on both signs on the upper right.

Custom (Int.) Pty Ltd also included a brief description on the Phantom’s history on the outside rear of the Backing Card titled, ‘The Story – The Ghost Who Walks’. We also see an image of ‘Phantom Country’.
