The Phantom The Card Game was produced by Games By Lyck in Sweden in 2021. Created by Mikael Lyck, the fully licensed Board Game was initially offered as a Kickstarter campaign in May, 2020 to not only gauge interest, but to also have the funding prior to going into production.
The Phantom The Card Game box is illustrated by Henrik Sahlström, with a large array of artists illustrations found on the games internal pieces, including Wilson McCoy, Sy Barry and Paul Ryan.
Plot
The game includes 3 adventures:
Story of Devil: Follow the footsteps of the Phantom and experience how he met and
bonded with his trusted wolf Devil. Based on Team Fantomen’s 1979 publication The Story of Devil, written by Donne Avenell and drawn by Georges Bess.
Diana in the Jungle Patrol: Take part in the story about how Diana became an esteemed jungle patrol officer. Based on the classic story from 1973 by Magnus Knutsson and Jaime Vallvé.
Year One: Jump into the story year one the 21st Phantom’s first adventure after taking the role as the Phantom. Based on the 2004 story created by Claes Reimerthi and Paul Ryan.
Gameplay
The Phantom The Card Game is a cooperative game for one to two players. With help from allies, weapons and actions, players experience exciting adventures by using cunning to overcome problems and defeat enemies, in the world of The Phantom. Officially licensed product with images restored from the comic books!
Each round, players face a new problem that needs to be taken care of. With limited resources and plays it is important the player makes good decisions to overcome short term obstacles, achieve the long term goal and at the same time build up your supply of actions, items and allies. Any enemies that are not dealt with will injure you, making it hard to come back to full speed.
The game includes 2 player decks and 3 adventures that can be played with 4 different difficulties. Different forking paths and unlockable reward cards are permanently added to your deck, making the player deck better and allows the player the option to tackle increased difficulty on the adventures to unlock even more cards.
One adventure takes around 20-45 minutes to play.

In October 2021, an expansion pack was released as a Kickstarter campaign by Games By Lyck in Sweden. The campaign was successfully funded and produced.
Titled ‘Terror in Mawitaan’, the expansion pack tells the story about Chatu ‘The Python’, a ruthless terrorist, and his first encounter with the Phantom. The pack released includes 47 cards, designed to be played on the above game set.
