The Phantom Phonecard

The Phantom Phonecard set was released in Australia, with card number one released by The Phantom Zone in 1995 and card number two released by Phantom’s Vault in 2001. The Phonecards were exclusively sold in Australia and are loaded with telephone calling credit which could be utilized at any Telecom Australia telephone booth across the country. The thin plastic card was simply inserted into the telephone to make a phone call. The Phonecards are fully licensed by King Features Syndicate.

The two Phantom Phonecards were packaged within a four-sided, full-color, fold-open cardboard presentation folder measuring 25.5cm x 18cm, featuring the plastic Phonecard enclosed in a plastic pouch affixed to the exterior of the back cover. The two internal sides contain a Phantom comic strip story written and illustrated by Glenn Fold titled “White Nile – Red Chains”, split into two parts across the two Phonecard sets.
