BILINGUAL COVER – AUDIO TRACK IN FRENCH (ENGLISH AND FRENCH LANGUAGE) The Phantom of Bengal – the phantom: is an Australian-American action film directed by Simon Wincer based on the comic strip The Phantom by Lee Falk (creator of Mandrake the magician) and released in 1996. In the 1930s, a masked vigilante known as the “Phantom” must prevent a criminal from seizing a treasure; it is three skulls: one is gold, the second is silver and the third is jade, which, when united, would give powers to their owner. Aided by a New York journalist, the Ghost will travel the world to prevent her from carrying out her plan. Four hundred years ago, a young boy witnesses his father’s death at the hands of Kabai Sengh during an attack on their ship by the ruthless Sengh Brotherhood. He is washed ashore on an island called Bengalla and found on the beach by tribesman who took him to their village. There he is given the Skull Ring and swears to devote his life to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty, and injustice. In adulthood, he adopts the identity of “The Phantom”, a masked avenger. The role of The Phantom is passed on from father to son through centuries, leading people to believe in a single, immortal figure and accordingly to nickname him “The Ghost Who Walks” and “The Man Who Never Dies.”
