The Phantom Comic 2000th Edition Poster was produced by Frew Publications in Australia in April 2026. The poster was released to celebrate Frew Publications 2000th comic book edition published the prior year, in June 2025, representing a significant milestone, unparalleled by any other publishing house, as it celebrated the release of a comic book character in an uninterrupted series that has been in print for 77 years, since 1948. The poster is fully licensed by King Features Syndicate.
Frew Publications was founded in 1948 by Ron Forsyth, Jim Richardson, Jack Eisen & Peter Watson (the Frew name was derived by the last initials of each founder name). Frew Publications boasts the longest running English language Phantom comic book series in the world. Its 1st issue was published on the 9th of September, 1948 and contained the US newspaper reprint, The Slave Traders, by Lee Falk and Ray Moore. Frew Publications of Australia is still alive and well today.
The Phantom Comic 2000th Edition Poster is printed in full color with a gloss finish measuring 42cm x 59.4cm. The poster was available for purchase direct from Frew Publications via their website, mailed rolled in a poster tube to the buyer. The poster can be seen below, featuring an image illustrated by Daniel Picciotto.

This striking poster sees the Phantom standing triumphantly on a shoreline, dual-wielding his iconic M1911 pistols against a backdrop of a massive, fiery explosion and the skeletal remains of a shipwreck. He is clad in his classic purple suit, with the Skull Ring clearly visible on his right hand and his signature striped trunks and holster belt framing his powerful silhouette. In the foreground, the milestone number “2000” is etched into the sand, signaling the long-running legacy of Phantom comic books in Australian comic book history.
The image seen on the Phantom Comic 2000th Edition Poster is the illustration found on the front cover of the Phantom comic book numbered 2000 published in Australia in June 2025. The front and back cover of this edition can be seen below.

Unlike other countries who have seen Phantom comic book series published on-and-off by a myriad of publishers, Phantom fans in Australia have been fortunate to have a continuously released Phantom comic book series since 1948, in a format which has remained relatively unchanged by the one publisher, Frew Publications.
