The Phantom Buckle and Belt were produced by Bandit Belts in Australia in 1989. This limited-edition item was initially available exclusively through mail order directly from Bandit Belts, with orders sent to P.O. Box 1134 Fitzroy North, Victoria 3068, Australia. The set is fully licensed by King Features Syndicate.

The manufacturing date was not visible on the buckle but confirmed by the illustrated packaging, and the buckle was first advertised on the back cover of Australian Frew Publications Phantom comic books, making its debut on the back cover of issue number 942.

The Belt Buckle is triangular in shape and is crafted from pewter with a high-gloss black enamel/cloisonné finish and measures 8cm wide x 6.5cm tall. They were sold with a detachable leather belt which could be ordered to fit, with belt sizes ranging from 28” up to 44”.

Each Phantom Belt Buckle comes individually number, with a world wide production limit of 2500. The set was accompanied with a letter of authenticity and a black and white cardboard gift box with a lift off lid featuring the Phantom’s origin story on its side panels.
