The Phantom figure is a purple 6” PVC non-poseable figure, produced for the Australian market, commencing in 1993.

The figure is based on the 1986 blue Swedish Phantom PVC figure. In 1993, ‘Bulls’ Sweden (the sole licensee for Swedish Phantom produced merchandise) supplied ‘Global Comics Pty, Ltd’ with a pre painted purple 6” PVC figure, which was identical to the Swedish blue PVC figure first produced in 1986, however there are no dates or copyright trade marks on the Australian figure.

The first time we see the Australian purple PVC version advertised by Global Comics Pty, Ltd was on the inside back cover of the Australian Frew Publications Phantom comic number 1039, in April 1993.

It was then seen advertised on the last page of the 1993 Australian 1st Edition Johnson’s Phantom Price Guide.

‘The Phantom Zone’ advertised the figure in the Australian Frew Publications Phantom Christmas Special, comic number 1216 in 1998.

We also see the figure listed in the 1996 Australian 2nd Edition Johnson’s Phantom Price Guide, unfortunately it was incorrectly listed with the wrong date and country.
