THE PHANTOM THE MASKED MAN
For 400 years, the remote island of Bengal has kept a fascinating mystery inside its jungle. The Skulls of Touganda – one of gold, another of silver and the third of green jade – all of them ancient relics of incalculable value, according to legend they contain an energy a thousand times greater than any known force. The person who manages to find the place where they are and keep them together will be in possession of the greatest power that human beings have ever dreamed of.
The evil Xander Drax (TREAT WILLIAMS) and the bloodthirsty pirates of the Sengh Brotherhood hope to control the power of the skulls, but none of them count on the presence of The Phantom (BILLY ZANE), the other mystery that guards the island.
Also known as “The Ghost Who Walks”, he travels around the island dressed in purple on the back of a white horse and in the company of a wolf. This mythical character has been the hero and protector of the indigenous people and all the treasures of the island for four centuries. Believed to be immortal, this figure is both respected and feared as his true story is only known to his most faithful servant.
Kit Walker is the alter ego of The Phantom and the 21st descendant of a young man who was picked up by the inhabitants of Bengal and saved from death at the hands of pirates. That young man, after contemplating how his father was murdered, he swore to fight against pirates and defend the island. So he did and, after him, all his descendants.
In her real life Kit resides in New York. His girlfriend, Diana Palmer (KRISTY SWANSON) is a very enterprising young woman who has just returned home from one of her many trips. Diana’s parents are great fans of art and throw a party at their magnificent mansion. There they talk about the Skulls of Touganda and she volunteers to go to the island of Bengal to look for them, but once there she is kidnapped by the evil Xander Drax who is willing to do anything to get the valuable trio of Skulls.
Once again, The Phantom has to use all his cunning and strength to rescue Diana from the hands of his enemy and prevent the island’s treasures from being stolen. Furthermore, he has to prevent the power of the Skulls from harming humanity.
“THE PHANTOM, THE MASKED MAN” is a magnificent action film that brings to the big screen, to perfection, what has been the comic book hero for many generations around the world. It has an extraordinary setting, both the jungle and the different settings in which the narrative takes place. It is, without a doubt, an exciting story that both young and old will enjoy.
