Nerbini Promotional Postcard

The Nerbini Promotional Postcard was produced by Casa Editrice Nerbini in Italy in 1972. The postcard was distributed by newsstands and book sellers throughout Italy, promoting the release of a new comic book series, reprinting classic comic books previously released as supplement editions in the early years of publication by Casa Editrice Nerbini.

The postcard is printed in full color measuring 25.5cm x 11cm, containing print on both sides. The postcard contains Italian text, with the front text translated to; ‘NERBINI – he returns with his’ plus the tiles of the various classic publications reprinted.

On the back of the postcard, we find address information for Casa Editrice Nerbini plus copyright information, including the year the postcard was produced, 1972.

On the front of the Nerbini Promotional Postcard, we see the various newspaper style publication published by Casa Editrice Nerbini containing comic strip stories. These editions are part of a rich publishing history, dating back to the 1930’s. L’Avventuroso is seen on the left, second from the top, which was the first publication to contain a Phantom comic strip in Italy, appearing in September 1936.

We also see the publication Il Giornale Del L’Uomo Mascherato, which was first published in Italy in 1948, which features a profile image of the Phantom and Diana on all of its headers on the cover page. The Phantom is seen in his Italian red costume as shown below.
