The Mario Caria Mini-Poster was produced by Fratelli Spada in Italy in 1969. It was issued to readers as a complimentary giveaway in L’Uomo Mascherato comic book, the Avventure Americane Nuova Serie edition number 138. The front cover of this comic book can be seen below.

The Mario Caria Mini-Poster is printed in full color measuring 27cm x 18cm. It was provided to readers stapled to the centerfold of the comic book, designed to be removed and displayed by the new owner as required. The illustration features as image of the Phantom in his Italian red costume with the Phantoms skull ring prominent, illustrated by Italian artist Mario Caria.

The illustration seen on the Mario Caria Mini-Poster was initially published on the cover of L’Uomo Mascherato comic book, the first Avventure Americane series, edition number 74, published in Italy by Fratelli Spada in 1964, 5 years prior to the mini-posters release. The classic Phantom comic strip story found in this edition is ‘The Phantom’s Ring’, written by Lee Falk and illustrated by Wilson McCoy.
