The 50th Anniversary L’Avventuroso Comic Convention Display Poster was produced by Casa Editrice G. Nerbini in Florence, Italy in 1984. The poster was created to advertise not only the comic convention held in Florence, Italy, but also the 50th Anniversary of L’Avventuroso release in Italy, published from 1934 thru till 1943.

The one sided poster is printed in color measuring 31″ x 22″, advertising the comic convention held at Palazzo Dei Congressi Exhibition Center in Florence, Italy from the 15th of December 1984 for 2 days. It features a variety of comic book character published in L’Avventuroso including the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Flash Gordon and Prince Valiant. The front and back of the poster can be seen below.

Casa Editrice G. Nerbini also advertise on the poster the 50th Anniversary of L’Avventuroso, first released on the 14th of October 1934. Within a very short period of time, this comic series went on to sell approximately 500,000 copies a week, making them one of the most famous publishers of the 1930s. The L’Avventuroso series published popular newspaper comic strip reprints from the USA which include the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Flash Gordon, Prince Valian,t Secret Agent X9, Jungle Jim, Terry and the Pirates, Red Barry and many more. These characters weren’t previously published in Italy until Casa Editrice G. Nerbini commenced translating and publishing them.

Casa Editrice G. Nerbini are also credit as published one of the very earliest comic books to exclusively feature the Phantom in Italy in full color, released as a supplement in L’Avventuroso on the 15th of May 1937, only 8 months or 243 days after the Phantom is first published in Italy in L’Avventuroso in edition number 101 on the 13th of September 1936, 209 days after the Phantom first appeared in American newspapers on the 17th of February 1936. The L’Avventuroso publication continued publishing Phantom comic strip stories until edition number 388 in 1942.

Also produced specially for the comic convention is a special commemorative publication providing information centered on the L’Avventuroso series. The front cover of this special commemorative publication showcases the first edition of L’Avventuroso originally published on the on the 14th of October 1934.
