Fantomet Cards

The Fantomet card set was produced by Semic in Norway in 1993. A full set contains 35 cards and mainly feature characters found in Phantom comic strips.

The Fantomet card set were released across 7 Fantomet comic books published in 1993, with 5 cards included with each edition. Only subscriber comic books contained the cards and not those editions released in retail outlets. The Fantomet comic book issues containing the cards are numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

No specific trading cards came per issue. Each ‘Card Pak’ came sealed in a wax packet containing 5 random cards.

Note: Only membership subscriptions would receive a plastic sealed Fantomet comic book with a 5 ‘Card Pak’. News agencies and bookstores only sold loose/unsealed comic editions, which would include a ‘free voucher’ to mail and redeem the cards.

The back cover of Fantomet comic book number 3, published in 1993 was the first to advertise the upcoming series of cards.

Packaged with 5 popular trading cards or free vouchers in Fantomet number 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11!

Note: This advertisement excluded Fantomet comic book number 10, published in 1993 as having cards included, an obvious typo, as the interior advertisement page mentions Issue #10.

The full set of 35 Fantomet cards can be seen below, with a unique image on the front of the card, and text/information on the back.
