The Fantomen Exklusiv Samlarpärm (which translates to The Phantom Exclusive Collector’s Binder) was produced by Semic Press in Sweden in 1985. The binder is designed to store Fantomen comic books, designed to hold exactly 13 issues, which perfectly accommodated half a year’s worth of the bi-weekly Swedish comic books.

The Fantomen Exklusiv Samlarpärm is made from hard cardboard (paperboard) with in a deep blue gloss finish on the exterior and a white gloss finish within the folder. It measures approximately 26.6cm x 18.6cm x 4.5cm with a internal binding mechanism at the top and bottom of the spine made of nickel-plated steel/metal, which holds the flexible metal rods or wires used to secure the comics in place without needing to punch holes in them.

The Front Cover features a clean silver border with ornamental corner flourishes, centered by the Phantom Skull Mark (the sign of the Skull Ring). The Spine displays the Phantom’s masked profile portrait at the top, the stylized Fantomen script logo in the lower middle, and designated silver lines at the bottom meant for the volume year stickers. The Back Cover features the same silver filigree border, centered by a circular emblem showcasing The Good Mark (the crossed-P protective symbol).

The Fantomen Exklusiv Samlarpärm was advertised in Fantomen comic books and not provided for purchase in retail outlets. As seen in the advertisement below, this “exklusiv samlarpärm” (exclusive collector’s binder) was offered directly to readers through the “Fantomen Shop” mail-order page. The coupon code at the bottom reads FA 1/85, indicating this advertisement was published in the very first issue of Fantomen in 1985. It was sold for a special price of 35:- SEK (including VAT).
