Fantasma Good Mark Pendant

The Fantasma Good Mark Pendant was produced by RGE in Brazil in May, 1979. The Pendant was a free give-away collectible with a Fantasma comic book and fully licensed by King Features Syndicate.

RGE (Rio Gráfica E Editora) located in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, a subsidiary of ‘Grupo Globo’ was founded by Roberto Marinho in 1952, ceasing operations in 1986. For over 35 years RGE published a multitude of comic books, magazines and collectible pop culture related collectibles.

The Good Mark Pendant was issued with Almanaque do Fantasma comic book number 2. The 100 page, softcover, full color comic book contains the Lee Falk and Sy Barry classic stories, ‘The Adventures of Lucy Cary’.

Below we see 2 advertisements promoting the Pendant.

On the above advertisements we see the words, ‘Grátis: Medalhão Da Marca Do Bem’ which translates to ‘Free: Medallion of the Brand of Good’. On the front cover of Almanaque do Fantasma comic book, shown below, we see in the lower left the words ‘Grátis! A Marca Do Bem’ which translates to ‘Free! The Brand of Good’.

The Fantasma Good Mark Pendant was taped to the front cover, to the bottom left of the comic book, before being distributed to newsagents.

Below we see the Pendant which was attached to Almanaque do Fantasma comic book, plus how the Pendant was presented by RGE on the comic book front cover.

Made of plastic, we see the Fantasma Good Mark Pendant green in color, with a hole on the outer ring for the Pendant to be attached to a necklace. The Pendant is easily dated to 1979 due to the comic book it came attached to.
