Djungelbandet på TV och DVD

Djungelbandet på TV och DVD (which translates to The Jungle Band on TV and DVD) is a DVD released by Film & Bildstudion Ledendal AB in Sweden of a live recording of the Swedish children’s music group Djungelbandet. The performance was filmed in October 2004 at Norrevångskolan School in Eslöv, Sweden.

Djungelbandet is a Swedish children’s musical group originally established in 1992 as “Fantomen och Djungelbandet” (“The Phantom and the Jungle Band”). The group’s origin traces back to founder Stefan Wahlén, who initially dressed as the Phantom (or Fantomen as he’s known in Sweden) to entertain children at cinema screenings; the full band formed after he met musicians Stefan Hedlund, Bengt Palm, and Jörgen Lundberg. They are primarily known for their high-energy shows that blend music and humor with educational messages focused on friendship and the environment.

The group consists of four core members who portray specific characters from the Phantom comic storyline and their own jungle-themed world:

Stefan Wahlén: Performs as Fantomen (The Phantom) and provides vocals.
Jörgen Lundberg: Performs as Mr. Timbuktu on vocals and electric guitar.
Bengt Palm: Performs as Överste Weeks (The Colonel) on vocals and acoustic guitar.
Stefan Hedlund: Performs as Papa Goja on vocals and bass guitar.

Djungelbandet has remained active for over three decades, with continued performances and media releases recorded as recently as 2024 and 2025. Their discography includes several albums such as Djungelbus (1994), Fest på Eden (1996), Djungelbandets spelhåla (1998), Annorlundalåtar (2002), and Om alla drar åt samma håll (2008). In addition to their albums, they have released live concert recordings on physical media and song books.

Djungelbandet på TV och DVD was distributed in a DVD case measuring 19cm x 13.5cm with a single DVD found within. The musical members featured on this DVD are Stefan Wahlén (performs as The Phantom), Jörgen Lundberg (performs as Mr. Timbuktu), Bengt Palm (performs as The Colonel), Stefan Hedlund (performs as Papa Goja), Jan Lian, Gojan Felix, Bröderna Rock and Konstapel Jönsson.
