Defensores De La Tierra Board Game

The Defensores De La Tierra Board Game was produced by Celulosa Fabril S.A. (CEFA) in Spain in 1986. The game is based on the Defenders of the Earth animated television series which was produced in USA in 1985, which featured characters from three comic strips distributed by King Features Syndicate, Flash Gordon, the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, and Mandrake’s assistant Lothar who oppose Ming the Merciless in the year 2015.

Celulosa Fabril S.A. was established in Zaragoza, Spain in 1946. When established, the company initially manufactured a variety of chemical products, including cellulose, gelatin, saccharin soap and thermoplastics.

In 1960, Celulosa Fabril S.A. commenced producing products for the automotive and household market. They also started producing toys by injecting molds with plastic. They then commenced to manufacture a variety of children themed toys, including puzzles, games, dolls and more.

Celulosa Fabril S.A. is the parent company of the CEFA Group. It’s also the parent company of CEFA Toys S.A. which is still in exitance to this day, licensed to produce toy for Disney, Ben 10 and Caillou.

The game is designed for 3 to 4 players over the age of 9. The Defenders of the Earth characters are fighting against Ming the Merciless, who is in the Ice Station of Earth, encompassed within an arctic mountain, with prisoners held there requiring rescuing.

2 different version of the Board Games were produced with varying contents.
