The Defenders of the Earth Phantom figure is produced by NECA in the USA in February, 2021.
National Entertainment Collectibles Association, which is commonly abbreviated to NECA, was founded in New Jersey 1996. In 2002 NECA formed a separate division called ‘NECA’s Reel Toys’ to produce toy and action figure lines generally based from films, television, video-games, sports and music. Today, NECA has licensees for over 60 character figure and toys.
Based on the characters from the 1986 cartoon, Defenders of the Earth, a line of figures have been produced by NECA, which includes the Phantom. The release of the Defenders of the Earth figures by NECA coincide with the 35th Anniversary of the cartoons release. The other 2 Defenders of the Earth figures released at the same time as the Phantom are Flash Gordon and Ming the Merciless.
The Phantom figure is 7″ tall and comes with an array of accessories, including:
- Interchangeable Hands
- A Blaster Gun
- Detachable Laser Effect
- A Figure of Zuffy
A store display tray was issued to display 2 each of the Phantom, Flash Gordon and Ming The Merciless figures, measuring 17” x 10” x 6”.
The figures are shipped from factory to retail outlets in numbered cartons measuring 17.5” x 12” x 6.5”.
