The Defenders of the Earth Audio Book set was produced by Hemmets Journal AB under their Select brand in Sweden in 1987. The set contains a story book which was accompanied by an audio cassette is themed around the Defenders of the Earth cartoon series released in the USA in 1986. The set is fully licensed by King Features Syndicate.

The Defenders of the Earth Audio Book set is packaged in a see through hard plastic blister pack glued to a cardboard backing, with a retail rack punch hole located at the top. The book and audio cassette are designed to be removed via the rear of the cardboard backing via precut perforated sections. The front and back of the set can be seen below.

The story book found in the set is titled ‘The Sun Stealers’, written by Mark Sufrin and illustrated by Fred Carrillo. The audio cassette was produced by Tocano in Denmark, voiced in Swedish language by Peter Wanngren, Bo Maniette, Roger Strom, Monica Forsberg, Bertil Engh and Ulf Källvik. The set is designed for young children to listen to the audio cassette and follow the story in the story book, an aid in assisting to learn how to read.
