The Comic Strip Character Novelty Stamps were produced by King Features Syndicate in the USA in the 1970s. A total of 8 pairs of stamps make up the set, a total of 16 individual stamps once separated from each other.
Printed in full color with a gloss finish, each Comic Strip Character Novelty Stamp measures 6.3cm x 8.9cm. The pairs of stamp sheets are designed to be separated from each other, with the printer creating pre-punched holes for easy separation, similar to postage stamps. On the reverse we find glue requiring moisture to be applied, before the novelty stamp is placed to the desired surface.

The Phantom is featured on one of the novelty stamps, an illustration by Wilson McCoy, paired with the Dagwood and Blondie novelty stamp.

The King Features Syndicate comic book characters featured in the collection are Dagwood and Blondie, the Phantom, Brutus, Olive Oyl, Bringing Up Father, Wimpy, Sarge, Beetle, Barney Google and Snuffy Smith, Prince Valiant, Time Tyler’s Luck, Grandma, Henry, Felix, The Katzenjammer Kids and Mandrake the Magician.
Each of the Comic Strip Character Novelty Stamps contains the name of the character featured, plus King Features Syndicate copyright information. A year of production isn’t included unfortunately.
