The Phantom model kit was produced by Action Hobbies in USA in 2006. Titled ‘The Phantom – The Ghost Who Walks’, model kit which is purchased disassembled and unpainted. The model kit was produced in small numbers and sold exclusively in the USA.
The 11 parts which make up the model kit are made of colorless resin pieces, requiring glue to assemble the sections which where then painted by the new owner. Paint and brushes aren’t included in the kit, with additional work also required to smooth sections and joints.
Each piece contains a great deal of detail, especially when looking at individual pieces such as Devil and the base-plate. Once assembled and painted, these details really standout and makes for a nice display item, with the Phantom seen in an action pose, holding back Devil with a treasure chest by their side.
The packaging and various pieces found in the kit can be seen below.

A completed and painted example can be seen below.

Prototype
A Phantom and Devil prototype model kit was designed by Dave Cockrum for the Aurora Plastics Corporation in USA in 1974. Aurora Plastics Corporation was already producing comic book character model kits of well known comic book characters including Batman, Wonder Woman, The Lone Ranger, Superman and more.
The Phantom and Devil model kit was never produced by Aurora Plastics Corporation as the company ceased producing their comic book character model kits in the middle of the 1970’s.
Action Hobbies would release a model kit based on this prototype design, recasting the pieces from the model kit designed by Aurora Plastics Corporation.

Below we see advertisements for model kits produced by Aurora Plastics Corporation, which were highly popular and favored by children at the time.
