Os Zeróis, a book featuring the art of Ziraldo Alves Pinto was published by Globo in Brazil in 2012.
Os Zeróis is a soft cover coffee table book, weighing 3lbs and is filled with 100’s of comical superhero illustrations such as the Phantom, Superman, Batman, Captain America, Tarzan, Shazam, Wonder Woman and more. It measures 12” x 8.5” and contains 256 full color pages, 25 of which feature art/images of the Phantom.
Cartoonist/writer Ziraldo Alves Pinto was born in Cartinga, Brazil on the 4th of October, 1932. Among Ziraldo’s highly acclaimed cartoonist career, he is a painter, author, playwright, columnist, poet and journalist.
The Zeróis was a series of cartoons and parodies created by Ziraldo in the 1960’s which were parodies of American Superheroes: putting them in comic situations to make critical statements on topics such as politics, society, war and rebellion. This award winning 256 page special edition book consisted of Ziraldo’s best works between 1967 and 1972.
