MAD About Comic Strips

MAD About Comic Strips is published by DC Comics in the USA in 2003.

The softcover paperback book is published in a mix of 128 black and white and color pages measuring 21.6cm x 26.7cm. The art featured on the front cover is by Jack Rickard (a parody of Charlie Brown and Snoopy from Peanuts comic strip) which was originally published on the cover of MAD Magazine number 138, released in October 1970, as can be seen below.

A collection of vintage MAD material is published of comic strip parodies from the 1950s thru to the 2000s. Stories and art found in MAD About Comic Strips are by Don Martin, Harvey Kurtzman, Wally Wood, Will Elder, Ted Rall, Bernie Krigstein, Angelo Torres, Gary Hallgren & many more. Classic MAD spoofs include the Phantom, Popeye, Prince Valiant, Little Orphan Annie and more, by E.C Publications, Inc. legends such as Harvey Kurtzman, Wally Wood, Will Elder, and Bernie Krigstein.

Included in MAD About Comic Strips is a Special Bonus Insert, an 8 page reprint of the Sunday satirical newspaper from the Fourth Annual Edition of Mad published in 1961. The comics included were parody comic strips titled The Scramtom, Tarscram, The Kruatzarscarammin Kids, Prince Violent, Beagle Bagle, Peanutz, Smokei Togie, Believe it or Don’t, The Do-Little King, Pogum, Flush Gordon, Lil Abneh, Muck Trail, Mary Worthless and Miss Peachy.
