Guida Al Fumetto (which translates to ‘Comic Guide’) was produced by Casa Editrice Nerbini in Italy in 1997. The softcover reference book contains historical information on the Italian publishing house Casa Editrice Nerbini, plus the various titles and series of comic books it released through it’s history.
Casa Editrice Nerbini, which was founded by Giuseppe Nerbini in Florence, Italy in 1897 has a rich history of publishing the Phantom in Italy. The publishing house was the first to publish the Phantom in Italy in it’s L’Avventuroso series, first appearing in issue 101 of L’Avventuroso (which translates to ‘The Adventurous’), dated the 13th of September 1936.
Guida Al Fumetto contains 48 color pages measuring 15cm x 24cm in landscape format. A mix of comic book characters illustrated by Italian artist Luca Boschi as seen on the front and back covers, with the Phantom found on the front cover in his red costume, as he’s known in Italy. A poster was produced containing the illustration found on the cover of Guida Al Fumetto, printed in full color measuring 81cm x 27.5cm. Illustrated by Luca Boschi, it showcases 11 comic book characters, including the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Micky Mouse, Jungle Jim and more.
