Fantomet Novel Books

The Fantomet Novel Books were released by Nordisk Forlag A/S in Oslo, Norway from 1973 thru till 1974. Printed by Aktietrykkeriet i Trondhjem which was based in Trondheim, Norway, the 4 editions published in the series feature stories found in the Avon Publications novel book series published in USA commencing in 1972.

Aktietrykkeriet i Trondhjem was a long-standing and versatile printing company based in Trondheim, Norway, with roots tracing back to 1877 as “Trondhjems Interessentskabs Bogtrykkeri.” Renamed in 1894, they expanded to include a bookbindery by 1895. Throughout their history, they printed diverse materials, from newspapers like “Dagsposten” to numerous books and even comics, serving as an “indicia printer” for many issues. Their operations, located at Olav Tryggvasons gate 33, evolved significantly over time.

The company underwent several ownership changes, notably being acquired by Terje André Hildeng in 1983 and later by the Danish company Nørhaven in 2004, at which point it became AIT Nørhaven. This acquisition brought them under the same umbrella as Rotanor and Norsk Bokproduksjon, further solidifying their specialization in rotary-printed books. Despite their long and adaptive history within the Norwegian printing industry, Aktietrykkeriet, in its final form as AIT Nørhaven, ultimately ceased operations in 2014.
