Edição Do Globo Juvenil (which translates to Globo Juvenil Edition) books were published by Editora O Globo in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil from 1939 thru till 1941. The book series is based on the Big Little Book series published in the USA by Whitman Publishing Company from 1936 thru till 1942.
Big Little Books, later known as Better Little Books, were a series of compact hardcover books published by Whitman Publishing Company in the United States from 1936 to 1942. These distinctive publications measured 3⅝ inches wide, 4½ inches high, and approximately 1½ inches thick, containing 212 to 432 pages. The books featured a unique format of full-page black and white illustrations alternating with text pages, appealing to young readers and later becoming collectibles. The Phantom appeared in six different issues in the series.
The Edição Do Globo Juvenil book series contains 10 editions featuring an array of comic book characters, including Robin Hood, Radio Patrol, Dick James, Flash Gordon, Barney Baxter, Brucutu, Space Jack, King of the Royal Mounted and Ferdinand. Each edition is numbered from 1 thru to 10, with an edition number printed on the inside of each book.
The Phantom makes an appearance in the series in edition number 2 titled ‘O Livro Do O Fantasma Voador’, which translates to ‘The Book of the Flying Ghost’, published in December 1939. The hardcover book contains 458 black and white pages measuring 9cm x 13cm. The front cover can be seen below.

O Livro Do O Fantasma Voador contains 7 daily Phantom stories written by Lee Falk and illustrated by Ray Moore. As per Big Little Books, the book features full-page black and white illustrations alongside alternating text pages. The 7 story titles published are:

- The Prisoner of the Himalayas
- Adventure in Algiers
- The Shark’s Nest
- Fishers of Pearls
At the front of O Livro Do O Fantasma Voador, we find a title page which credits Lee Falk and Ray Moore’s work within the book. Additionally, we see the title of the book (‘O Fantasma Voador’), the series name (‘O Globo Juvenil’), the edition number (2), the place of print (Rio De Janeiro) and year of publication (1939).
