Blue Books

Printed on a yearly basis ‘Blue Books’ were mailed from King Features Syndicate to select newspaper editors and not the general public. Such Blue Books were used to promote the Daily and Sunday comic strips available from King Features Syndicate. Such Blue Books contained either black & white or full color samples for each comic character available at the time.

King Features Syndicate was founded by William Randolph Hearst in 1914, New York, New York. King Features has primarily been a print syndication company that distributes more than 150 different comic strips, newspaper columns, editorial cartoons, puzzles and games; to over 5,000 newspapers worldwide. King Features Syndicate is a branch of Hearst Holdings, Inc., which combines the Hearst Corporation’s cable-network partnerships, television programming and distribution activities and syndication companies.
