Commencing in March 2026, the Papua New Guinea newspaper Post-Courier commenced publishing Phantom comic strips.
The Papua New Guinea Post-Courier is the country’s oldest and largest-selling daily newspaper, maintaining a dominant presence in the nation’s media landscape since its founding in 1969. Headquartered in Konedobu, Port Moresby, the paper is published Monday through Friday in a tabloid format and is majority-owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. It is widely regarded as an influential voice in PNG, primarily serving an urban readership and providing comprehensive coverage of national politics, business, and major sporting events like rugby league.
In 2026, the publication continued to evolve through a “digital-first” approach, offering an extensive online platform and e-paper subscriptions alongside its traditional print editions.
A range of advertisements have emerged across the Post-Courier’s social media platforms, informing its readership that Phantom comic strips will be featured in the newspaper every Tuesday, starting from the 10th of March 2026. These social media announcements are supplemented by images, which are presented below, showcasing the cover art of Phantom comics that were previously published by Frew Publications.

Images of the Phantom have been prominently featured on the front covers of the Post-Courier newspapers that are published on Tuesdays. These covers serve to inform readers that the Phantom comic strip story “Rotten Apples” is presently being serialized, representing an original Phantom adventure that was initially published by Frew Publications in Australia in 2021. This work was authored by Duncan Munro and illustrated by Jeff Weigel.
