A new Phantom comic book series, released by the Austrian publisher ART:9, is now available for pre-order.

This edition is number one in a new series titled ‘Phantom – Die Legende‘, which translates to ‘Phantom – The Legend‘ which publishes classic Sunday newspaper Phantom comic strips. This new series follows a similar format as found with their ‘Phantom – Die Klassiker‘ comic books, which translates to ‘Phantom – The Classics‘, a series which publishes daily newspaper Phantom comic strips, with five editions published to date in this series.

Edition number one in the Phantom – Die Legende series will contain a softcover in landscape format with 114 black and white internal pages measuring 29.7cm x 21cm. Although produced in Austria, the comic book series contains German text aimed at German readers and collectors.

Phantom – Die Legende #1 will contain five classic Phantom Sunday stories all written by Lee Falk and illustrated by Ray Moore. The stories published within are:

• The League of Lost Men – originally published in newspapers from 28th May 1939 thru till 15th October 1939
• The Precious Cargo of Colonel Winn – originally published in newspapers from 22nd October 1939 thru till 10th March 1940
• The Fire Goddess – originally published in newspapers from 17th March 1940 thru till 21st July 1940
• The Beachcomber – originally published in newspapers from 28th July 1940 thru till 29th December 1940
• The Saboteurs – originally published in newspapers from 5th January 1941 thru till 23rd February 1941
