Available for auction through the United States-based Heritage Auctions is a distinctive original page from the Phantom 2040 comic book series.
The Phantom 2040 comic book series was based on the TV cartoon series with the same name, containing four editions published in the US in 1995. The all original storyline and artwork specifically produced for Marvel Comics for the series features various writers and artists, including Peter Quinones, Steve Ditko, Bill Reinhold, Neil Hansen and Dan Panosian. These four comic books can be seen below.

The page available at auction is from the fourth edition, page number twenty, illustrated by Steve Ditko and Bill Reinhold, being the very last page in the story featured in the series. The art is created in ink over graphite on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10″ x 15.25″, with blue pencil editorial marks seen in the margins. The auction is due to end on the 2nd of April 2026.
Both the page featured in the published comic book and the original artwork offered at auction are displayed below.

This final page of the Phantom 2040 concludes a story arc where Tana recovers from radiation poisoning thanks to treatments provided by the Phantom, ultimately losing her supernatural voices but gaining the title of ‘Honorary Phantom’ to protect her village from poachers. As the village celebrates its restoration, the Professor prepares to return to Metropia for a new semester, prompting the Phantom and Guran to reflect on the lessons learned during their journey. The story shifts from the jungle to a futuristic cityscape as the Phantom’s technological vehicle, the Hyper-Cycle, streaks toward the towering spires of Metropia. The issue ends on a somber yet heroic note, with a ghostly image of the 24th Phantom looming over the city as the story emphasizes that the world, and Metropia specifically, needs his protection now more than ever.
