The U.S. based publishing house Mad Cave Studios has recently commenced pre-orders for a second comic book series starring the Defenders of the Earth team.

A third variant comic book cover is beginning to appear online; however, it hasn’t yet been listed on the Mad Cave Studios website for pre-order.

Following on from the first eight edition Defenders of the Earth comic book series released by Mad Cave Studios, with the final edition released back in June 2025, a new series has been listed for pre-order on the Mad Cave Studios website.

Titled ‘Defenders of the Earth: Dark Destiny‘, the all original comic book series is authored by Dan DiDio, illustrated by Alex Sanchez, colored by Juancho Velez and lettering by Carlos M. Mangual. This first edition is due for released on the 10th of December 2025.

The comic book series is set to be published with 32 full-color pages per edition, with online sources indicate that the series will consist of only four editions. The third variant comic book cover officially created by Mad Cave Studios for the first edition can be seen below, with the cover illustrated by Bob Quinn.

The other two variant covers currently seen on Mad Cave Studios website for Defenders of the Earth: Dark Destiny edition number one can be seen below: Cover A illustrated by Marco Santucci (depicted below left) and Cover B illustrated by Vasco Georgiev (depicted below right).
