The Phantom makes an appearance in the newly published June edition of ‘Vitt & Dintorni’ magazine released in Italy.
Vitt & Dintorni (which translates to ‘Vitt & Surroundings’) is an Italian magazine published by the ‘L’Associazione Nazionale Amici de “Il Vittorios”‘ (which translates to ‘Association of Friends of Il Vittorioso’). It’s a fanzine/criticism magazine primarily devoted to ‘Il Vittorioso’, a historically significant Italian weekly comic magazine that was published from 1937 to 1943 and then from 1945 to 1970 (becoming “Vitt” in 1967).
It’s a vibrant Italian magazine dedicated to celebrating the rich history and legacy of the beloved Italian comic weekly, ‘Il Vittorioso’. Each issue, typically around 60 richly illustrated color pages, features meticulously researched articles that delve into the iconic heroes and prolific authors who contributed to ‘Il Vittorioso’ both before and after World War II, alongside broader discussions on Italian comics and journals of the era, sometimes even including re-editions of classic works from the original publication.
Edition number 64, dated June 2025, features a cover artfully illustrated by Massimo Gamberi. This edition includes an illustration of Antonio Sciotti, renowned for his depiction of various comic characters, including the Phantom for the esteemed Italian publisher Fratelli Spada (read more about Antonio Sciotti HERE).

Antonio Sciotti is depicted at his drawing desk, with the Phantom seated upon Hero in the background, adorned in his red costume, as he’s published in Italian comic books.
L’Associazione Nazionale Amici de “Il Vittorios” describe the magazine on their website as:
The new issue of our magazine dedicates a detailed profile to Domenico Volpi, Red Cap, historic editor-in-chief of Il Vittorioso, who passed away in January on the threshold of his 100th birthday. The dossier and the cover, instead, are dedicated to Antonio Sciotti, author for the weekly published by AVE but also – among others – for Il Giornalino and for The Masked Man of the Spada Brothers.
