The Phantom Wilson McCoy Omnibus Volume 3 by Mythos Editora

The Brazilian based Mythos Editora have announced the release of a new Phantom comic book, titled ‘O Fantasma Omnibus – O Caminho Do Diabo & Outras Historias‘.

Translating to ‘The Phantom Omnibus – The Devil’s Path & Other Stories‘, the hardcover book will contain 400 pages and measure 17cm x 26cm, with black and white pages found within the comic book. Text will be printed in Portuguese.

The pre-sale advertisement on the Mythos Editora website tells us that the stories found within the book are written by Phantom creator Lee Falk, and the comic strips are illustrated by Wilson McCoy:

In 1936, when Lee Falk launched his newest creation into the world of comic strips, he could not yet measure the impact it would cause. When co-creator Ray Moore had to step away from production due to injuries sustained in World War II, it was up to his assistant Wilson McCoy to keep the legacy alive, illustrating the character for almost 20 years. The Phantom, the 21st holder of a secular title, would influence authors and fans around the world, remaining in the popular imagination for decades. This Omnibus edition from Mythos Editora brings each of these stories in a definitive form, doing justice to the hero’s immortal legacy and lasting the Ghost-Who-Walks for countless ages.

This edition to feature Wilson McCoy is numbered Volume 3, with an assumption that Mythos Editora will be releasing a follow-up edition or editions. This Omnibus style comic book marks the 9th released, with artists featured in past comic books including Ray Moore and Sy Barry.

The front cover of O Fantasma Omnibus – O Caminho Do Diabo & Outras Historias can be seen above, an illustration by Wilson McCoy with the Phantom seen in an action pose.

Pre-Orders for the comic book are currently open, with estimated delivery due in June 2025.
