A vintage comic book from the Paquito series published in Mexico is scheduled to be offered in an upcoming auction by the United States-based auction house Heritage Auctions.
Paquito comics were published by Editorial Panamericana in Mexico, with two separate series published under the ‘Paquito’ title. Each comic book featured an array of comic strip characters per edition, including the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Popeye, Little Orphan Annie, Robin Hood, Batman, Felix the Cat, Superman, The Saint, Mickey Mouse and more.
The Paquito comic book offered by Heritage Auctions is from the first series published from March 1935 thru till October 1954, with 1205 comic books published in this series. The Phantom was published under his Mexican title of ‘El Fantasma’.
The comic book is edition number 418 published in 1940 and comes slabbed and graded by Certified Guaranty Company, LLC with the comic book published in black and white, including the covers. The front cover features the Phantom with comic strips published within being the Phantom, Little Orphan Annie and Robin Hood.
